Off to AZERBAIJAN!!!

What I’ve been up to: Life has been hectic and my life is being radically transformed!!! I graduated High School June 6th and had my open house on June 27th. I continued to work as much as possible through July 4th to put those monies toward my DTS. This has been a determined journey and one that I have learned to “TRUST” God to supply all of my needs according to his riches in heaven for the remainder of my expenses. I arrived……July 8th, at the University of the Nations in Kona Hawaii. Since arriving at Ywam Kona Life has been…..CRAZY!!!!!
God has taken me on an incredible journey the past couple of months. I have really been wrestling with my faith and making it my own. It’s been tough but completely rewarding. God has been showing me what life can look like when we give everything to him. Our WHOLE self, nothing held back. The picture he paints is absolutely breathtaking. I have witnessed miracles, and have experienced my own. I cannot believe what an incredible and powerful God that we serve. Who could deny his power, majesty and above all his inconceivable love for all his people through his son, Jesus!!!
I will be leaving for Azerbaijan ( a country in the middle east) in one month. Azerbaijan is predominately a Muslim country. While there I will be working with several different ministries already established. I will be doing things like, Teaching English, working in orphanages and feeding the homeless. More importantly though, sharing the Love of our savior Jesus Christ. God has been speaking to my heart and I have an incredible love and compassion for the people of this country. I know that GOD will have a huge impact on those we reach while there, but more than that, the imprint that will be placed on my life will be immeasurable!!! I have raised $2000 towards this trip and I have about another $5000 to go. I know that our God is a provider and I trust that he will lay my needs on the hearts of those who can and will help. I thank you all for your consideration and still request your prayers! (See below my site that makes donating super easy! Thanks!)

Please pray:
1. That I find favor with the people of Azerbaijan
2. To effectively share the gospel of Jesus Christ and for lives to be changed by the gospel.
3. To have safety to and from the different areas of ministry.
4. For good physical health and for spiritual protection.
5. Unity within the team members.
6. To raise up the rest of my financial support of $5,000.

Off to DTS

Life has been hectic and majorly crazy this last 6 weeks. Tomorrow……July 8th, I will fly to Kona Hawaii and embark on the beginning of my next 5 months! I am excited and really anticipating to have a radical transformation in my own life as well as the lives of those attending with me!! The Summer DTS is called “AWAKEN” and after watching the video, I am even more excited than I was (if that is at all possible). I will be in DTS (Discipleship Training School) for 12 weeks and then will be off and running for 2 months of field missions. We haven’t been told exactly where, but Africa and Asia have been mentioned…..

Some of the key elements in the DTS include but are not limited to:

*Learning to hear and obey God’s voice

*Coming to know the Bible as God’s handbook for life

*Understanding the world that we live in and the importance of worship, intercessory prayer, and spiritual warfare

*Discovering and walking in your God-Given identity and destiny in Christ

Please pray:

  1. That I may know Jesus Christ more and to let Him be known.
  2. To effectively share the gospel of Jesus Christ and for lives to be changed by the gospel.
  3. To have safety to and from the different areas of ministry.
  4. For good physical health and for spiritual protection.
  5. Unity within the team members.
  6. To raise up the rest of my financial support of $6,000.

God's Call

Hello everyone and thank you so much for your time. This has been an amazing 2 month journey for me. I was literally “called” this short time ago, but now looking back…..my life has been planned out from the beginning, I just failed to recognize the road signs! I was all set to attend Western Michigan University in the fall of 2010 and embark on “the rest of my life” when God had other plans for me. To be completely honest, I wasn’t immediately happy with his “CALL” and tried desperately to run! But for all of you who have that special & unique relationship with our Lord, you can run but you sure can’t hide! I am more than excited to see what God has in store for me and honored that he has called “me” to be used as his hands and feet to touch lives and see them completely changed….all for the Glory of God! This incredible journey which will begin on July 8th 2010 will be the biggest step I have taken in my life thus far.

As a full time student I am required to raise 100% of my financial fees for school, fees and field assignments. I humbly ask for your support, whether it is by prayer or monetary in nature. I ask that you pray and ask God what he would have you to do. I appreciate each thought, prayer or gift that will help further God’s kingdom.

What is YWAM DTS?

DTS stands for Discipleship Training School. The goal over the 5-6 months of DTS is for a person to develop a deep intimacy with God, to be raised up and prepared messengers to deliver the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who don't know Him. DTS equips and releases young leaders who are hungry to see change in this world. This is an intensive training course which focuses on developing character and a complete dependence on God. DTS is divided in to 2 parts: Lectrue Phase and Outreach Phase.

Lecture Phase 12 Weeks: Classes run in weekly modules with topics like: Hearing the Voice of God, Intercession, The Father Heart of God, Spiritual Warfare, Relationships, Evangelism and Missions. Students live out what they are learning through one-on-one discipleship, Bible studies, local outreach and campus work duties.

Outreach Phase 10-12 Weeks: In teams, students and staff serve alongside long-term YWAM missionaries in different countries. This is where what you have learned is put into practice. You'll be stretched and challenged in your relationship with God like never before and you're guaranteed to have many opportunities to see others come to know God as well.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE YWAM DTS

* To gather and challenge people to worship, listen to and obey God, releasing them (in the context of the DTS) to serve through evangelism, intercession, acts of compassion and other expressions of God's heart for the world, possibly even pioneering new ministries.

* To inspire and cultivate growth in one's relationship with God resulting in Christ like character, which is based on a solid Biblical foundation, the work of the Holy Spirit and the personal application of Biblical truth, especially concerning God's Character, the Cross and empowering Grace.

* To sharpen one's ability to relate to, learn from and work with people, including those of different cultures, personalities and perspectives.

* To further equip each one to serve God's purposes either in or outside of YWAM Family of Ministries, strengthening a commitment to reach the lost, especially the unreached, to care for the poor, and to influence all areas of society.

* To impart the vision and foundational values of Youth With A Mission International as well as that of the host operating location and to provide information regarding a variety of opportunities for service.
